Make space for what matters.

Commemorative Commissions

What in your life needs a little extra care? What are you reveling in, celebrating, reflecting on? Are you processing grief, welcoming a grandchild, standing in awe at how much you’ve grown?

Your experiences matter. Commissions commemorate them.

Ryn’s personalized commissions bring together her signature mark making and cyanotype process to create a collaborative piece expressive of your experience.

Commissions include an exchange of self and story - all to authentically inform the final work. Ryn will ask you a brief series of reflective questions to encourage your story to fully come through. She will then create responsively, translating the emotional depth and personal narrative within your reflections onto the page.

The result is a one of a kind piece holding space for this moment through its display in your space or home.

Cyanotype for Jill

“I in care of all its mes,” A cyanotype created for Jill in recognition of the multitude of ways she is present for others. This work simultaneously celebrates Jill in her new caretaking roles including “Gigi,” while commemorating her growth in learning to center and care for herself.

What’s the process?

  1. Commission Inquiry

Begin the process by completing an inquiry form. Share the vision and purpose behind your commission as well as price and timeline details. If you have a tight timeline, please be sure to note this on the form.

2. Artist Connection

Ryn will reach out within 2-3 business days to learn more about what’s inspiring your commission and to schedule a conversation. This could take place at Ryn’s studio or virtually. If you prefer not to meet, you may also share your responses through email.

3. Art Making - Work in Progress!

Ryn will create the work in studio. You are encouraged to join in on these studio sessions to see the work in progress. Depending on the specific commission, artworks may take 1 - 2 weeks to complete.

4. Delivery and Review

Your completed piece will be carefully packaged for delivery. In person delivery is available for Chicago locals. If you are at all unsatisfied with the piece, you have up to 2 weeks to reach out and express your dissatisfaction. Ryn will work with you to find a solution. Refunds are not admitted.
